  • Reflection Question
    Health More Fruits and Veggies
How does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet?

    ravenna bala 11/19/2019 12:43 PM
Eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect ourself, other people and our planet by making us feel better and digest better and it clears up the question of where the food is coming from. Also no animals will be hurt and treated horribly..
  • Reflection Question
    Energy Turn it off
How is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?

    ravenna bala 11/19/2019 12:36 PM
Electricity is generated by water power, sunlight and wind power. This impacts the environment, animals and humans by creating some sort of pollution and by products.

    Food Whole Foods Diet
Michael Pollan states that “it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor.” What are your thoughts on this idea?

    ravenna bala 11/10/2019 11:30 PM
my thoughts on this is that if you eat right and put good things into your body then it won't be necessary to have a million doctors appointments and waste money if you can prevent it

What is one thing you can do to help your community become more sustainable?

    ravenna bala 11/10/2019 11:28 PM
one thing I can do to help my community to be sustainable is to recycle and to pull out invasive species

The eco challenge is going great. I am being more careful of what I do and really taking it into account like turning of the lights and watching what I eat.
  • Reflection Question
    Health Healthy Sleep
Consider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?

    ravenna bala 11/03/2019 3:59 PM
I get an average of 5-8 hours a sleep every night and I have about a 30 minute to 3 hour nap a day. I honestly would not like to shift any of my sleep patterns. I am successful when I have a nap in the middle of the day because I have to wake up so early for practice. So about time I am done with my practice and weights, still no one is up for there day. So I already been wake for her 5 hours when people start to wake up.
  • Reflection Question
    Waste Choose Two-Sided Printing
Choosing two-sided printing can be an easy adjustment on your computer settings. How can you help others make this same switch? Can it be encouraged company wide?

    ravenna bala 10/24/2019 4:51 PM
I told all of my roommates that are about to print to make sure that they are doing double sided. Yes it can be encouraged company wide because in the end of things, reduceing the amount of paper can help everyone out.
  • Reflection Question
    Waste Use a Reusable Mug
Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?

    ravenna bala 10/24/2019 4:50 PM
One thing that stands in my way is washing the cup every time I use it and I could be lazy one day and not wash it. Also another thing is forgetting my cup at home. It does make me feel good knowing that i am not using plastic and I am using my reusable cups for all the drinks I drink
  • Reflection Question
    Health Exercise Daily
How can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?

    ravenna bala 10/08/2019 12:48 PM
Lucky for me, I have practice in the morning at 4 am and I am usually done either by 8 or 10. And then after classes, I have plenty of time to have quality time and spend time with my friends.
  • Reflection Question
    Food Reduce Animal Products
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?

    ravenna bala 10/08/2019 12:24 PM
People in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places because they can afford the meat. Meat products are very expensive because of the process of how they are put into packaging. Eating more meat will affect our planet and other people because well for one it kills off the animals and it also produces more pollution. it produces more pollution because in order to eat the meat it has to be killed, shipped and processed and all of that produces pollution, some way or another.
