  • Reflection Question
Community Talk To My Friends and Classmates
What makes you feel connected to your neighborhood, your neighbors, or another kind of community in your life?

    Tipfany Bandith 7/16/2019 12:26 PM
Being able to communicate and adding awareness on how little challenges can add up to make a difference within the community and environment.
  • Reflection Question
    Simplicity Less Screen Time
What did you notice in implementing this challenge? Was it hard to choose other activities over screen time? How did you decide to spend your time?

    Tipfany Bandith 7/16/2019 12:24 PM
This is definitely hard since we find ourselves staring at a screen majority of the day, but the less time spending on the screen is more time spending with loved ones.

Continuing to save water by using minimal water to clean pots/pans/utensils when out camping!
  • Reflection Question
    Water Use Reusable Bottles
What are some of the things that water provides for you?

    Tipfany Bandith 7/09/2019 2:40 PM

Water provides a source of hydration for us as well providing us means to clean and eat.

Challenges are going great. Went to the Lake this weekend and carried a bag of trash from all the waste that was littered around the area.

Summer weather is finally here in sunny southern California, took advantage of this heat and sun this week by spending majority of my off time outdoors!
  • Reflection Question
    Waste Personal Waste Audit
Why is it so difficult to understand the impacts our purchases and waste have on other people, animals, and places? How might your experience with this challenge impact your future consumption and choices?

    Tipfany Bandith 5/28/2019 9:10 PM
I believe it is difficult to understand the impacts our purchases and waste have on other people, animals, and places because we as humans have become so consumed by our routine habits of waste. Many people are also uneducated and unaware of the negative impacts it has on our eco system. This challenge will help me spread awareness to others.
  • Reflection Question
    Nature Do Nature Activities
What did you observe while spending time outside -- through sight, sound, smell and touch?

    Tipfany Bandith 5/28/2019 9:07 PM
Spent Memorial Day weekend at this beautiful National Park in Yosemite. Hiked up to Yosemite Falls, El Capitan, and Vernal Falls. Was able to see the beauty of the Sierra Nevadas, with the smell of crisp clean air and camp fire. Some of our days were cold and rainy, so we headed back to our camp site to enjoy the taste of hot cocoa and s'mores.

  • Reflection Question
    Waste Carry my Trash
What one thing could you do right away to reduce your waste?

    Tipfany Bandith 5/28/2019 9:04 PM
Try to use reusable bags, water bottles, etc. Also limit the use of disposable paper such as paper towels, baby wipes, etc.

  • Tipfany Bandith 5/28/2019 9:03 PM
I had to edit my challenges for this week because sticking to whole foods was kind of hard since I was going to be in Yosemite all weekend. I spent the entire time outdoors at the camp site or hiking on the trails.
