  • Reflection Question
    Energy Switch to Cold Water
What do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?

    Makiah Batugo 11/14/2019 1:24 PM
Buy Kyia and I starbucks in our cute reusable cups ;)

  • Reflection Question
    Food Whole Food Lifestyle
Michael Pollan states that “it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor.” What are your thoughts on this assertion?

    Makiah Batugo 11/14/2019 1:22 PM
Paying for GMO free and organic foods has a higher cost but much better value
  • Reflection Question
    Food Reduce Animal Products
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?

    Makiah Batugo 11/14/2019 1:17 PM
Farming uses a high virtual water content and increases the release of CO2 levels. Richer countries eat more meat because meat has a higher value than produce.

Consider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?

    Makiah Batugo 11/14/2019 1:11 PM
Go to sleep earlier and wake up earlier. Sleep 8 hours consistently. Cutting out caffeine and sugar before bed is helping.
  • Reflection Question

How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?

    Makiah Batugo 11/14/2019 12:38 PM
By applying it to all the products I purchase rather than just buying the most convenient option for me
  • Reflection Question
Waste Learn About & Practice Sustainable Fashion
How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

    Makiah Batugo 11/07/2019 1:38 PM
By shopping at thrift stores, and/or revamping your own clothes, recycled fabrics or thrifted clothing.
  • Reflection Question
    Simplicity Work-Life Balance
How might practicing work-life balance lead to a more sustainable life for yourself? How might it contribute to sustainability more broadly?

    Makiah Batugo 11/05/2019 12:35 PM
Not over working myself and making sure I have enough sleep and energy to contiue sustainable practices.
