Water Brush My Teeth Without Running Water
What is the main water source in your region? If you don't know, how could you find out?

I dont remember but my roomate did mention it once. I could do a search of my neighborhood water source or ask my roomate again to refresh. :D
  • Reflection Question
    Nature Do Nature Activities
What did you observe while spending time outside -- through sight, sound, smell and/or touch?

I took a hike after my morning volunteer at the Lyon Arboretum and the smell there in general is much different for how pungent the smell of the rich humid soil is. its the first thing I smell when I drive into the entrance of the facility. there are so many Hawaiian endemic plants around with vibrant colors or complex structure, leaves a smile on my face. the location was once a place for exotic birds but they got rid of it and released them in the wild so, today you can hear callings of birds that you might not hear anywhere else!
  • Reflection Question
    Nature Enjoy the Sunrise/Sunset
Father Thomas Berry says, "... our primary purpose is celebration. Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth." What is your response to Berry's assertion?

I intepret in what we invest into ourselves each day and in comparison to what we accomplished in the past seasons. the sunrise and the sunset for most indicates the beginning and the end of our activities and its up to us really what we do with it. sometimes we forget the basic process of nature or physics really since of the gravitational pull of the planets and their alignments.

How does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?

It humbles me because I really realize how life is short in our lifespans in the trees lifespans and how everything will continue to grow after we are gone. life keeps going and its up to us how we want to live ours. Our impacts change paths all the time and this is taking in consideration of the things and people it effects. its best to be happy in the end

Our bodies are made mostly out of water so its essentail for us to keep hydrated but it also makes the food that we eat to be possible in being eaten. we use it to grow food, cook it, wash it, etc. We use on a normal basis that we forget the value of it and due to ease of access we forge the work put into it to get the water we use
  • Reflection Question

How might spending more time outdoors enhance your brainpower?

There are many studies about the benefits of getting out of the house and enjoying the fresh air. the change of environment also stimulates the brain in a different manner since its noticing more greenery rather than looking through a screen. more senses are used since we smell the trees around us or see the sky above us which is most of the time covered from view. Being outside gives us a break from our hectic lives.
