Participate in Walk for Water - Mon, April 18th

The Community Service Committee and the 2nd grade classes will be hosting Walk for Water on Monday, April 18th, after school (3:30-4:30pm). By participating, students can become more aware of the burden that limited access to water can have on people's lives. According to a UNICEF estimate, for example, in Sub-Saharan Africa households in rural areas must walk on average 33 minutes to collect water; in Asia, 21 minutes. Click "Learn More" below to find the registration and fundraising forms.

I think the Eco Challenge is really important and how it really makes a change to impact the Earth

What did you observe while spending time outside -- through sight, sound, smell and/or touch?

At the beginning, you're like "huh, nothing interesting out here" but then you realize how nature is important to you and how you are important to protect it.
  • Reflection Question
Action Track: Building Resilience Participate in Walk for Water - Mon, April 18th
Please share one way in which you think your life would be different or that you would do differently if you had to walk 20-30 minutes to collect water, rather than open a tap.

    Anna Crasny 4/22/2022 6:11 PM
Well it's a total process. If you walk thirty minutes collecting and giving water it impacts everybody's life because, without water we wouldn't be able to live and hydrate ourselves.
  • Reflection Question
    Energy Choose LED Bulbs
Switching out your lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! In what other ways can you exercise your civic duty to protect the environment and reduce carbon emissions?

First, turn of all lights and electronics when you're not using them, also, you can walk by foot instead of going in a car, I could make posters as well and you can do more research on how to help our sweet planet Earth.
  • Reflection Question
Action Track: Building Resilience Support Local Pollinators
Why is it important to take care of pollinators?

    Anna Crasny's avatar
    Anna Crasny 4/21/2022 5:44 PM
Because, if we don't have pollinators, the plants wouldn't be able to grow well.

    Anna Crasny 4/20/2022 5:42 PM
So, first, you could donate your clothes or anything you don't need and you can also try only buying things that you need
