  • Reflection Question
Transportation Learn More and Talk to My Friends
How has your access to various kinds of transportation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?

    Elizabeth Diaz 2/21/2019 4:58 PM
I am in a Facebook group called new urbanist memes for transit oriented teens. I am so anti car. High density living and efficient mass transit is the solution to sustainable urbanism! I love trains!

Try brushing your teeth without getting the toothbrush wet. Or brushing your teeth in the shower. Efficiency AND eco friendliness.
  • Reflection Question
    Water 5-Minute Showers
Five minute showers are an impressive step toward reducing your water footprint. What is the next step you can take?

    Elizabeth Diaz 2/17/2019 1:50 PM
By taking a 5 minute shower, i not only reduce my footprint but I also don't have enough time to shave, so my actions are not feeding into the patriarchal expectations of hairless women! The next step I'll take/currently am taking is reducing my plastic waste - i noticed every single one of my bathroom supplies, like shampoo, conditioner, face wash, etc., are all in plastic bottles!!!! As soon as I finish what I have, I will transition into only using face wash and shampoo and conditioner bars, which require very little packaging and no plastic.
  • Reflection Question
    Transportation Walk Instead
Half of all trips made in the US are three miles or less; 72% of them are driven. Do you feel that this fact applies to you? If so, how might you incorporate more muscle-powered transportation in your daily life?

    Elizabeth Diaz 2/16/2019 12:30 PM
My fitbit has been telling me that i walk 3-7 miles a day. that's a lot of steps.
  • Reflection Question
    Food Plant an Herb Garden
Consider the ways you can garden: a plot of land? a patio container? hanging basket? windowsill gardens? What would work best for your living situation and lifestyle?

    Elizabeth Diaz 2/15/2019 9:10 AM
I planted basil and mint. This is my third try. I hope they don't die. They always die.
