I recently also purchased reusable wooden utensils to use when there is a plastic utensil option at a restaurant. I think this small step will help in using less plastic in my day to day life.

I have some of these and it makes eating way more fun!!

I just bought reusable straws and reusable produce bags. I am trying to eliminate more of my plastic waste. I love plastic straws with my beverages, but I know how harmful those can be to marine life.

I was able to get out and enjoy God's Creation by going to Joshua Tree this past weekend and stayed in a yurt. The group I went with also was able to all carpool in one car!

I decided to buy all organic food items on my grocery shopping trip this week and avoid buying products that are not local. I like the idea of eating organic and avoiding any GMO's or other harmful products.

In our household we try to use eco friendly products as much as possible. For all our cleaning products, we use Seventh Generation that uses biodegrade chemicals that do not harm the planet!

    • Michelle Picca 2/05/2018 7:17 PM
That's awesome! Seventh Generation is a great brand!
  • Courtney Dobbins 1/31/2018 2:27 PM
I went on a trip this weekend and instead of taking separate cars, we were all able to carpool together and emit less fossil fuels into the air!

    • Harry Watkins 2/04/2018 3:28 PM
Good job!  Sounds like more fun as well!

This week I really wanted to work on saving energy within my household. In a house of seven college girls, we slip up sometimes and leave the lights on in the bathrooms and in our bedrooms. My roommate and I decided to leave reminder notes to turn off the lights when you leave the room and it has been helping us with this issue.

I am excited to start working at Monarch School, a school for homeless kids, as an assistant instructor to their on campus garden. Being able to partake in growing your own food and installing that thrill into a younger generation is very exciting! I have also been able to limit how much water I use by taking shorter showers.

I love this so much. I feel like this is an amazing way to fight environmental injustices because the poor are the ones mainly effected. I'd love to hear more about this in class!

I recently bought a Patagonia coffee mug with a lid to use and reuse for my cups of coffee. This helps me reduce the amount of coffee cups that are used once and disposed. This is my small step to reduce waste in my everyday life!

    • Rima Antous 1/23/2018 11:05 AM
That is such a great action to take to reduce waste!
