I'm going to say that me choosing not to do my laundry is good for the environment.

My ecochallenge is going alright. I haven't changed very much of my routine or lifestyle so it's not been difficult but at times I feel like i could be doing more.

I'm really enjoying all of the walking I've been doing instead of driving or taking the bus. Fall is my favorite season so I'm glad I've been pushing myself to go out and enjoy it more
  • Reflection Question
Food Watch a Documentary about Food Sovereignty
How does food sovereignty address the complex transition from localized food systems to modern global food systems?

    Devin Gallant's avatar
    Devin Gallant 10/25/2022 8:32 PM
Food sovereignty aids in the transition by advocating and supporting localized food systems on a larger scale.
  • Reflection Question
Simplicity De-Clutter My Home or Dorm Room
How can you prevent yourself from accumulating more unnecessary things in the future?

    Devin Gallant's avatar
    Devin Gallant 10/23/2022 5:33 PM
Buy less, and cycle out of things. Only buy things to replace others
  • Reflection Question
Water Say No to Plastic Straws
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

    Devin Gallant's avatar
    Devin Gallant 10/19/2022 2:14 PM
The most single use products I use would be tinfoil and paper towels, and perhaps coffee cups. When I can I try and us beeswax wrap, cloth towels, and my travel mugs.
  • Reflection Question
    Energy Switch to Cold Water
What do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?

    Devin Gallant's avatar
    Devin Gallant 10/19/2022 2:12 PM
I don't really save money personally by doing this, but it just is good to know that i'm making better choices.
  • Reflection Question
Simplicity Go For A Daily Walk Outside
Fresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?

    Devin Gallant's avatar
    Devin Gallant 10/19/2022 2:11 PM
It helps me with my mental health and feeling more connected to nature. It's a great way to get exercise that is relatively painless and useful for me.
  • Reflection Question
    Simplicity Buy Used Clothes
Do people with economic privilege have a responsibility to consume and own less? How can the concept of "reduce" be presented to those who may be struggling to have enough food, clothes, shelter?

    Devin Gallant's avatar
    Devin Gallant 10/19/2022 2:10 PM
I think everyone has a responsibility to consume ethically and less because they have the means to do so. Reduce for those who may be struggling should be presented in manageable ways like, throwing out trash, recycling in public bins etc.
  • Reflection Question
    Energy Turn it off
How is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?

    Devin Gallant's avatar
    Devin Gallant 10/19/2022 2:09 PM
To be honest, I don't know how electricity is generated for me specifically but I know that it contributes to my carbon footprint which effects everything around me.
