It provides us with the opportunity to humble ourselves and be appreciative of all the intricate systems of the world that keep us alive. It is almost frightening how unaware we can become, simply expecting everything to function as it always does. However, practicing gratitude can help eliminate the apathy and ignorance that prevents us from working to make the world a better place.
