How might spending more time outdoors enhance your brainpower?

    Beck James 10/22/2019 10:43 AM
I wish I could go on more hikes more often. Being outdoors allows you to see life from new perspectives instead of seeing the same parking lot from my window. I get to see the ecosystems of a variety of animals and on occasion the past people that have come through.

    Waste Use a Reusable Mug
Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?

    Beck James 10/09/2019 8:33 AM
I use a reusable mug because (if we are being honest) I don't have time. In the morning I don't have time or the money to go to the coffee shop and order a latte. I have classes at 8 AM so I wake up turn on the coffee pot, get dressed, and pour a cup then head to class. It cuts down on waste, saves time, and saves money in the long run. Fun fact: if you go to certain coffee shop with a reusable mug, you get a discount.
  • Reflection Question
    Nature Support Local Pollinators
Why is it important to take care of pollinators?

    Beck James 10/07/2019 10:01 AM
Without pollinators we would not have plants and therefore would not have a majority of our food sources. Eventually I want to have my own beehive, but I want to do more research into this before I do.

What did you observe while spending time outside -- through sight, sound, smell and touch?

    Beck James 10/07/2019 9:06 AM
While some may find the rain as a problem, to me it shows that the world around us moves on. The blistering heat will soon be behind us, and the plants and animals will receive that last bit of water before they prepare for winter.
