  • Reflection Question
Health Learn About Local Environmental Justice Concerns
Who is most affected by environmental degration and/or environmental irresponsiblity in your community? How are they affected?

    Reileyy Jones 2/13/2020 7:05 AM
I think people living in poverty are most affected by degration of the environment. These are most likely people that will be pushed out of their homes, only to tear down their home and build bigger ones and bigger neighborhoods or shopping malls.
  • Reflection Question
    Simplicity Eat Mindfully
Mindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How do your eating experiences differ when practicing mindfulness?

    Reileyy Jones 2/03/2020 7:20 AM
When eating with no distractions, you have the chance to reflect on anything and have a better mindset than if you were eating while watching TV or on your phone. It could also help to not eat too much if you are distracted and don't realize.
  • Reflection Question
    Nature Explore My Area
How might spending more time outdoors enhance your brainpower?

    Reileyy Jones 1/30/2020 8:02 AM
Fresh air is good to get your blood flowing and brain working. It can clear your head and help you think more clearly.
  • Reflection Question
    Energy Turn it off
How is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?

    Reileyy Jones 1/29/2020 7:01 AM
Electricity is generated by power plants in the area I live. Power plants use fossil fuels which are not sustainable and often produce harmful emissions into the air and release large amounts of waste into the nearby areas.

  • Reileyy Jones 1/27/2020 7:41 AM
I find myself completing more daily actions that one-time actions. I also tend to select more first level actions. I should try to challenge myself by completing harder actions.
  • Reflection Question
Food Watch a Documentary about Food Sovereignty
How does food sovereignty address the complex agrarian transition to modern food systems?

    Reileyy Jones 1/23/2020 7:40 AM
In the modern world, we have big corporations that are buying out small farmers and large plots of land to run their factory farms. They can produce so much that they are able to market their products to the public for cheap. The concept of food sovereignty would allow small farmers and independent gardeners to grow what and how they want.
  • Reflection Question
    Simplicity Limit Social Media
Social media can keep us connected with loved ones, make us laugh, and help us to learn new things. It can also take more time than we realize or intend to give. After doing this action for a few days, how do you feel? What do you notice?

    Reileyy Jones 1/22/2020 7:02 AM
I feel better and not as reliant to be constantly scrolling social media to see what everyone else is doing. I am able to focus on myself and be present.
  • Reflection Question
Health Learn More about Food Deserts
What are the implications of access to nutritious food for a community?

    Reileyy Jones 1/22/2020 7:01 AM
A community needs to have a grocery store or farmers markets that have healthy fruits and vegetables. If this is not present in a community, they would have to resort to fast food and convenience stores that do not serve healthy food options.
  • Reflection Question
    Waste Use Reusable Bags
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

    Reileyy Jones 1/21/2020 10:37 AM
If I was able to carry all of my items out without a bag then I would do that. I would see if the store carried paper bags. If none of these options work then I could use plastic bags and then return them to the store.
  • Reflection Question
Waste Learn About & Practice Sustainable Fashion
How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

    Reileyy Jones 1/21/2020 10:29 AM
You can buy used clothes and do little things such as sewing, painting, drawing, or ironing on patches or stickers. This way the clothes are more unique and you did not have to contribute to the fast fashion industry.
