Reflection QuestionFood Try a New Way to PrepCanning and pickling food is a great way to have delicious summer fruits and vegetables all year round. Just make sure to follow the canning and pickling guidelines from the USDA or another trusted source. What are some foods that you would like to preserve and enjoy later in the year?

zoe klausner 2/28/2023 8:11 AMMy campus eco-challenge is going well. I now regularly bring a reusable mug to get my coffee. -
zoe klausner 2/16/2023 12:38 PMI would love to do another eco-challenge when I'm not limited by the constraints of the college structure. I currently don't have any choice in energy, water, or food sources and much of my plastic waste is due to the grab-and-go dining system that it utilized by the majority of my meal plan options.-
Marguerite Saunders 2/19/2023 3:39 PMI completely agree, Zoe. While I can't avoid using some disposable containers due to the nature of the dining plan, something I try to remember to do is bring a reusable fork with me when I go to upstairs Leo's that I can then wash in my dorm. It's a little drop in the bucket, but all those plastic forks add up!

Reflection QuestionEnergy Switch to Cold WaterWhat do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?
zoe klausner 2/15/2023 6:58 PMAs a student, the price I pay to use the laundry machines stays the same price no matter what choice I make, so I personally am not saving anymore money, It would be a cool initiative though if the school lowered the price of using the washing machines when you use cold water as an incentive. -

Reflection QuestionNature Leave No TraceEducator Stephanie Kaza advises her students to focus on what they care about most when addressing the enormity of ecological problems. Is there a specific area you feel particularly called to work on?
zoe klausner 2/06/2023 1:22 PMI feel called to work on the emotive aspect of ecological problems. I think that if people could more deeply connect with their feelings towards the environment, wether it be through art or some other form, we would be better off.
