By a nice meal LOL. I try to use cold water often usually but when I flashback to my fire alarm going off due to steam last semester, I realize we still got ways to go.
  • Reflection Question
Community LEARN ABOUT TRANS, FEMME, AND NONBINARY EXPERIENCES
How is equality for trans, femme, and nonbinary people important to a just and sustainable society?

As part of the queer community, I have spent a good part of my life trying to better understand other experiences of people from my community. While studying biology and genetics I've come to realize that we barely talk about queer discussions. I am glad however that scientists have made sure to try to include trans people in the debate on how to describe them in pedigrees!
  • Reflection Question
    Health Exercise Daily
How can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?

I have always hated going to the gym. The gym has a very weird vibe to it in which it does not feel correct. However, playing Just Dance and going out to dance is way more fun!
  • Reflection Question
    Energy Learn About Renewable Energy
What inspires you to act on sustainable energy and other energy issues?

I have always loved SOLAR PANELS! The concept of the sun powering our world is fascinating. It is a shame when we use nonrenewable resources as their cost comes to our Earth.
  • Reflection Question
Waste Tour A Waste Management Facility
Field trip! What a fun way to learn about our impact and consumption! What facility did you tour? What did you learn?

I visited a water treatment facility in Cleveland in June. It smelled really bad, but their work is very important as they treat most of the water we use in Cleveland which comes from Lake Erie.
  • Reflection Question
    Waste Go Paperless
Reducing your paper mail can reduce mental clutter as well as physical waste -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?

I have always hated paper billing and any paper for that matter. I am glad to keep everything organized on my electronics.

It is going well! I am someone who is usually out and about for class so changing my habits in my home has been kind of weird. I am glad to begin seeing the sun rise although recently it has been super cloudy!
  • Reflection Question
    Nature Enjoy the Sunrise/Sunset
Father Thomas Berry says, "... our primary purpose is celebration. Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth." What is your response to Berry's assertion?

I am also on my way to getting back on track in school so when I woke up for my 8am class I was also excited to see the sun rise as the clock struck 7:00 am. I felt more grounded as I watched the beautiful color flourish through the clouds.
  • Reflection Question
    Simplicity Disconnect from Email
Notice how much time you were spending checking email away from work and make note of that. Now that you have stepped away from it and have not been checking, what changes are you noticing in your thoughts, use of time, stress and energy levels?

    Anthony Morelos's avatar
    Anthony Morelos 10/18/2022 12:45 PM
Checking my email is something I do often as I am a college student that always needs to contact a peer or professor, so I have been trying to let them pile up and knock them out around 4 pm.
  • Reflection Question
    Simplicity Limit Social Media
Social media can keep us connected with loved ones, make us laugh, and help us to learn new things. It can also create echo chambers and take more time than we realize or intend to give. After completing this action for a few days, how do you feel? What do you notice?

I feel like I talk about social media often. It is nice to stay off the phone though. I talk more to my friends.
