Say No to Plastic Straws

An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.

This first week of the ecochallenge has actually been going pretty well. The three options I picked were to turn the water off when brushing my teeth, less screen time, and saying no to plastic straws. The most difficult task has been the plastic straws. I thought this task was going to be easy but I never really realized how many plastic straws I actually use each day. The other two haven't been too hard. I have had a lot of school work this week so I really haven't been on electronics that much and turning the water off when I brush my teeth has been a little bit of a challenge but not too hard.
