  • Reflection Question
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

A major thing we can do is use large reusable water bottles like hydroflasks or thermoflasks. We could encourage the unnecessary use of them through educating those who have an easier access to refill their bottles rather that create waste. This way they have an idea of the waste they are creating. Having this image where you are involved in climate change and pollution is a great way to encourage people to permanently make sustainable choices and habits.
  • Reflection Question
Water Say No to Plastic Straws
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

I would use plastic cups or coffee cups alot but I have made it a habit to have a reusable cup on hand. This is useful for refilling water or having a coffee shop employee fill my cup rather than fill a plastic cup.

Water Brush My Teeth Without Running Water
What is the main water source in your region? If you don't know, how could you find out?

I have no idea what the main water source is in our region. I assume its run off water from the hills? I could probably find this out by doing a google search and reading from certified websites.

Going great so far! I had started growing mint but was unsuccessful. Since then I have started a plant table for my roomates and I on our patio.

I have planted a small succulent in my pot with spearmint and peppermint. So far only one sprout of spearmint has risen so I am debating buying some more seeds. So far so good though, I can't wait to have a fine of spearmint. One of my roommates also brought in a Basil plant so we hope to have an actual herb garden soon.

We've been having toilet issues so our water usage has been lower this last week. We are waiting for someone to clean our bathtub since doo doo water leaked in from a really bad sewer backup.

I've been making sure to get my roomates to turn off appliances and lights around the house when they walk out of a room. So far we have been doing great in minimizing light usage.

My friends and neighbors were in need of a dip for their chips so I made a big batch of salsa from ingredients from a family garden. Everyone loved it and it had a great spicy level,
  • Reflection Question

How is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?

I am fortunate enough to have family with solar powered panels above their homes. By avoiding expensive electricity bills, we have been able to provide clean and renewable energy for our homes. We are also reducing our carbon footprint which is great for our environment.
