  • Reflection Question
Simplicity De-Clutter My Home or Dorm Room
How can you prevent yourself from accumulating more things in the future?

    Sierra Ullrich 4/09/2020 5:34 PM
All of this extra time at home has encouraged me to do some Spring cleaning. Although I cannot take anything to donation centers yet, it is good to have the pile of things ready to go!

  • Reflection Question
    Food Locally-Sourced Meals
If you were to only eat what is in season locally, what would be the hardest food item for you to give up?

    Sierra Ullrich 2/02/2020 1:16 PM
I think I would struggle with giving up apples. Although some apples are grown in the San Diego area, I doubt it is year-round, and apples have become an almost daily snack for me.

Apples are precious here! Theyre usually gone in about 2 weekends in Julian! That is a tough one to give up indeed!
  • Reflection Question
    Transportation Walk Instead
Half of all trips made in the US are three miles or less; 72% of them are driven. Do you feel that this fact applies to you? If so, how might you incorporate more muscle-powered transportation in your daily life?

    Sierra Ullrich 1/29/2020 10:46 AM
I live less than a mile and a half from school, so walking or riding my bike makes sense. When I walk, I use the time to think about what's going on in my life, listen to music, or talk to friends or family on the phone. Walking takes an hour out of my day, but it adds to my health in many ways.

    • Professor Morrell 2/03/2020 10:40 AM
Its all about balance - walking definitely helps with that - and I often have to schedule in my time to get it in, but it works! Great insight.
