Signing up to vote is important for a sustainable and thriving world because it allows us to chose who are leaders are, and make your own personal decision/vote. You can actively participate in more important decision-making by not only registering to vote, but also fundraising for a candidate.
  • Reflection Question
    Simplicity Buy Used Clothes
Do people with economic privilege have a responsibility to consume and own less? How can the concept of "reduce" be presented to those who may be struggling to have enough food, clothes, shelter?

I believe that people with economic privilege definitely have more responsibility to consume and own MORE if anything. Reduce can mean that people simply reduce their fast fashion purchasing.

Community is when people come together as one, so when there are inequalities, there is an unbalance between a community. This diminishes a strong sense of community

Thinking long term. By being aware of what you eat, you can avoid numerous diseases caused by an unhealthy food consumption. I definitely agree with this statement. I think that your nutrition sources are crucial determinants for your overall health.

My experience of Honolulu is definetly affected by my way of commuting by bike. I feel more free to try out new stores I drive by. As, it is easy for me to try out small local pop-up shops, I can support locals.

    Nature Enjoy the Sunrise/Sunset
Father Thomas Berry says, "... our primary purpose is celebration. Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth." What is your response to Berry's assertion?

I defineatly agree with his statement. Only through a deep appriciation of our surroundings can we understand how to treat the environment, our social relations and ourselves with respect.
