Exercise Daily
Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 45 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.

Limit Social Media Use and Reflect About My Experience
I will limit my social media use to once per day and share the impact I see and reflections I have on the feed.
Simplicity
Go for a Daily Walk
I will take a walk each day to clear my mind, get some fresh air, and support my physical and mental health as a student.
Energy
Calculate my Digital Carbon Footprint
I will calculate my digital carbon footprint and take steps to reduce my CO2 emissions.

Declutter My Living Space
I will declutter, clean, and donate or recycle unneeded items in my dorm room, apartment, or home to create a more peaceful and organized living space.

REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityFresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?
Miles Anderson 4/30/2026 7:46 PMIt gives me time to think; it puts thoughts into a different perspective, and I tend to make better, more well-informed decisions when I take a walk. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityHow can you prevent yourself from accumulating more things in the future?
Miles Anderson 4/26/2026 8:52 PMI should be more consistent about when I clean my space; I tend to let it pile up and justify that it isn't that bad, until it ends up that way. I will likely make this a daily or weekly action after the eco challenge, so my space can remain clean; it would also hopefully give me some ideas for reorganizing. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicitySocial media can keep us connected with loved ones, make us laugh, and help us to learn new things. It can also create echo chambers and take more time than we realize or intend to give. After completing this action for a few days, how do you feel? What do you notice?
Miles Anderson 4/26/2026 8:38 PMI'm generally a pretty offline person; I haven't seen any short-form content since ~2021, though I do tend to watch a YouTube video every once in a while. I cut back on this and went without consuming any media for the most part, and I felt more productive; it left me a bit more time in the day to focus on the things I care about. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyWhere in your life do you emit the most carbon? What change are you willing to make in your daily life to reduce this output?
Miles Anderson 4/26/2026 8:33 PMTravel is the highest. I do go on trips with my family, sometimes by plane. It might be more environmentally sound to see more of Minnesota rather than to travel across the country or internationally.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyWhat did you learn about your digital habits that surprised you the most?
Miles Anderson 4/26/2026 8:25 PMThe amount added by simple web searching, and at the scale of a full household, was much higher than I anticipated. I realized that even though I don't use many services on the internet, I'm still running enough traffic to warrant extra hours.
