  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

ROLANDO EDGARDO ARGUETA LARA 8's avatar
ROLANDO EDGARDO ARGUETA LARA 8 4/08/2025 7:37 AM
Barriers include convenience and forgetting to bring a reusable bottle. I can make it a habit by keeping a bottle with me and refilling it daily.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
When you know who produces your food, you are connecting personally to your complex regional food system. What are the advantages of knowing who produces your food and where it comes from? How can knowing their food producers enable someone to advocate for a better quality of life for those who produce their food, both near and far?

Knowing your food producers builds trust, supports local farms, and helps ensure fair treatment. It empowers you to push for better wages and working conditions.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste
In what neighborhoods or areas of your region are landfills or other waste sites located? Which communities are most affected by these locations?

ROLANDO EDGARDO ARGUETA LARA 8's avatar
ROLANDO EDGARDO ARGUETA LARA 8 4/08/2025 7:33 AM
Landfills are often in low-income or industrial areas. Nearby communities face pollution and health risks.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water
Who is affected by polluted water or a lack of access to water in your region? How are they affected?

ROLANDO EDGARDO ARGUETA LARA 8's avatar
ROLANDO EDGARDO ARGUETA LARA 8 4/08/2025 7:32 AM
People in low-income or rural areas are most affected. They face health issues, limited hygiene, and struggles with daily needs like cooking and cleaning.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you or aren't allowed to use the one you brought? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

ROLANDO EDGARDO ARGUETA LARA 8's avatar
ROLANDO EDGARDO ARGUETA LARA 8 4/08/2025 7:29 AM
If I find myself in that situation, I try carrying items in my hands or use a cart if available. If a disposable bag is the only option, I reluctantly accept it but aim to reuse it later. To avoid plastic bags in the future, I could keep a reusable bag in my car or in my daily bag as a backup, making it a habit to check before heading out.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy
How is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?

To create more real and meaningful interactions each week, focus on being present, listening actively, and engaging in shared activities or interests.
