REFLECTION QUESTIONWater 5-Minute ShowersName some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?
Morgan Bargeron 12/06/2023 4:31 PMThere are a few things impacting out water. Plastic/waste, overuse of surrounding land, toxic pollution, etc. We can work with local groups and create government organizations to get people helping and talking. So doing things like clean ups. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Research Restorative JusticeHow can Restorative Justice help foster the well-being of both people and planet?
Morgan Bargeron 12/04/2023 6:44 AMIt helps people who are stuck in a loop of generational problems. It returns the land and well being of people who were otherwise forgotten to their families. I think that this is one of the answers to maybe reaching a better us. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Talk To My Friends and ClassmatesWhat makes you feel connected to your campus, your neighbors, or another kind of community in your life?
Morgan Bargeron 12/04/2023 6:39 AMI really love just getting to know and understand people. I see that a lot through clubs and sports and things. I have a lot of anxiety around meeting new people but i feel like just being around people has helped me connect. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Mindfulness PracticeWhat best helped you with your Mindfulness Practice? How does Mindfulness keep you grounded and sustain your work with compassion?
Morgan Bargeron 12/04/2023 6:34 AMIt really just helped me stay focused and less stressed than I normally am. I'm not normally one for mindfulness but I haven't hated it so far. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Volunteer in my CommunityWhat is one thing you can do to help your community become more sustainable?
Morgan Bargeron 11/30/2023 7:18 AMI can help with community gardens in my area to get food for groups that maybe can afford or reach it. I can tell people about helpful programs. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Go for a Daily WalkHow do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?
Morgan Bargeron 11/27/2023 8:06 AMThere are many more sights and sounds when walking. I also get to see and wave to my neighbors. I live near river arts so there are a lot of pretty things to see as well as many parks. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Watch a Documentary about Food SovereigntyHow does food sovereignty address the complex transition from localized food systems to modern global food systems?
Morgan Bargeron 11/21/2023 6:47 AMIt allows local foods to be enjoyed in local areas but also to have food in areas that may not be able to grow those things. It gives the people and farmers more of a voice on what they want with there food. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Limit Social MediaSocial media can keep us connected with loved ones, make us laugh, and help us to learn new things. It can also create echo chambers and take more time than we realize or intend to give. After completing this action for a few days, how do you feel? What do you notice?
Morgan Bargeron 11/16/2023 6:38 AMI've noticed I use it more for connecting with friends and their lives rather than just scrolling. I see pictures and i make posts with them. I think social media is great for connection but when over used it doesn't end well. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Learn More about Food ApartheidWhat can lack of access to nutritious food affect a community? How can having access to nutritious food help a community become more resilient?
Morgan Bargeron 11/15/2023 6:37 AMThis can cause increased risks of obesity which come with many other issues such as heart disease which is a top killer. They can also be less motivated and care less because healthy foods increase brain function. Then with a community this can really just spiral. There will be less access if there's a large group attempting to get it but there's not enough going around. People will not get the nutrients they need. If there is enough access to good healthy food. It will help allow equity and a sense of accomplishment. If everyone has access to these foods it can give more time to create ethnic dishes. Which will also be good for health and mental health. Giving an overall more positive feeling. -
