Meghan Benkert 10/24/2023 12:41 PMMy challenge has been going well, and I've been able to focus on saving as much energy as possible! -
Meghan Benkert 10/19/2023 6:28 PMToday, the challenge didn't go as well because I used plastic bags and forgot to use reusable bags. -
Meghan Benkert 10/17/2023 6:01 PMThe challenge has been going good, I have noticed when I'm lazy I tend to not want to get up to turn lights off from other rooms or turn water off in between doing things, but since doing this challenge it has made me think about it more and how much energy and water I would be saving. -
Meghan Benkert 10/16/2023 7:12 PMThe challenge has been going good and I have been able to keep up with all of my challenges, the hardest one being not to accept plastic bags! -
Meghan Benkert 10/13/2023 8:01 PMToday, I went to the store and noticed how many people use plastic bags and how that is a regular thing to do, instead of reusable bags. I had never really thought of this before, but now doing this challenge made me think how many disposable bags are used everyday, and that’s normalized instead of reusable bags.-
Emily Nies 10/14/2023 9:56 AMI recommend reaching out and inquiring about a reusable/returnable bag service! My local grocery stores adopted this program several years ago and it doubles as a great source of income for them.

Meghan Benkert 10/12/2023 8:13 PMI was able to complete my challenges, although I didn’t go to the store at all, but I made sure to turn off water and everything else off when not being used. I have also decided to get reusable bags to put in my car so I have them there in case I decide to go to the store whenever! -
Meghan Benkert 10/11/2023 7:56 PMSo far, I have been doing good and have been able to not take a bag when I don't need it, like when I only have a few things that I'm getting. I've also noticed me thinking about turning lights off and things that I'm not using, and I'm paying more attention to it. -
Meghan Benkert 10/10/2023 6:20 PMToday, I went to the store and forgot to bring my reusable bags so I accepted plastic bags and wasn't able to complete that challenge today. However, I still was able to remember to turn off lights and water when they weren't being used! -
Meghan Benkert 10/09/2023 7:01 PMSo far, the challenge has been going good. I don't go shopping a ton, so I'm not usually worried about using plastic bags, and it's been pretty easy to make sure I'm not using energy when it's not needed because I just turn off the lights, water, etc. whenever it's not in use. I also have to pay for these utilities, so it's easy to do when it saves me money. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Turn it offHow is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?
Meghan Benkert 10/08/2023 3:15 PMElectricity is generated through natural gas, coal, and nuclear energy, which is polluting the environment and taking part in climate change, however using renewable sources like wind and solar is helping our environment more.
