Participant Feed

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Walk Instead
Half of all trips made in the US are three miles or less; 72% of them are driven. Does this statistic describe your own transportation habits? If so, how might you incorporate more muscle-powered transportation in your daily life?

Most of the time this does describe my own transportation habits when I am at home. However, when I am at school I walk to most places. I think to incorporate more walking into my life I will plan out my day more and even encourage others to walk with me so I will be more motivated to walk as opposed to driving.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Water Say No to Plastic Straws
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

I use single-use plastic bags regularly when I go shopping. Instead of using plastic bags, I can purchase reusable bags.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Nature Go for a Daily Walk
How do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?

When I walk instead of drive I get to appreciate the smaller details of things around me. When I drive, I pass everything quickly and miss the small details like tulips and wind chimes in neighborhoods. While driving you are focusing on what is directly in front of you, but when you walk you get to look at what is around you and notice different details.
