Lily's actions
Waste
Use Reusable Bags
If at all possible, I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases.
Health
Happiness
I will write down three things every day that I am grateful for, or send one email every day thanking or praising someone.
Water
Say No to Plastic Straws
An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.
Health
Joyful Movement
I will spend 30 minutes doing an activity where I'm both moving my body and enjoying myself.
Health
Exercise Daily
Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 30 minute(s) each day.
Water
Use Reusable Bottles
I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 3 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.

Lily Boldt 11/13/2024 12:54 PMI am focusing on eliminating my waste- so using reusable bags, reusable straws and water bottles. These are things I tried to practice before but never intentionally made sure I did them and tracked it. It also helps with me drinking water because I am trying to keep three water bottles out of the landfill per day which means I need to drink at least 48 hours of water per day to do so. I enjoy using reusable straws because I feel better about not wasting them but also I enjoy drinking out of metal straws more than disposable plastic ones because it makes the drink colder. I also always use reusable bags when grocery shopping because it makes it easier to carry the groceries across campus from the car and its nice to load them up heavier than a normal grocery bag-and then I don't have to dispose of all of the plastic or paper bags. However, through this challenge I have also really tried to use reusable bags when running any type of errands like TJ maxx or other stores besides just the grocery store, and that has made me feel really good.
