Health
Go Get A Check Up
Regular health check-ups help prevent problems before they start. I will schedule or attend a medical, dental, or mental health check-up to take care of my well-being. I will develop a plan with my medical professionals to achieve my best health and live my life to the fullest.
Simplicity
Think About My Core Values
We may find more meaning and joy in life when our actions are aligned with our personal values. I will determine what my top 3-5 core values are so that I can better align my actions with them.
Simplicity
Reflect on My Needs Versus Wants
I will adopt a "Needs Vs. Wants" approach and only buy things I need.
Food
Enjoy a Meatless Meal
Producing 1 kg of beef emits as much greenhouse gas as driving 150 miles, meanwhile, 1 kg of veggies or grains leaves a much lighter footprint! This week, I’ll shrink my climate impact by having 1 meatless meals and/or 0 vegan meals each day.
Food
Choose Organic Ingredients
Organic farming practices are healthier and safer for our planet, animals, and people. I will enjoy 2 meals cooked with organic ingredients per day.
Simplicity
Declutter My Living Space
I will declutter, clean, and donate or recycle unneeded items in my dorm room, apartment, or home to create a more peaceful and organized living space.
Simplicity
Go for a Daily Walk
I will take a walk each day to clear my mind, get some fresh air, and support my physical and mental health as a student.
Energy
Turn Off Lights and Electronics
I will keep lights, electronics, and appliances turned off when not using them.
Energy
Switch To Cold Water for Laundry
I will switch to washing my clothes in cold water, saving up to 1,600 lbs of CO2 over the course of the next year.
Energy
Power Down the Computer
I will power down my computer and monitor when not using it for more than 2 hours, saving up to (1.1) lbs of CO2 per day.
Food
Plant an Herb Garden
I will plant an herb garden in my home, workplace, or dorm room.
Health
Express Gratitude and Random Acts of Kindness
Small acts of kindness and gratitude can brighten someone's day and create a positive ripple effect. I will express gratitude to people or perform random acts of kindness to spread joy and connection.
Community
Research Restorative Justice
I will spend 18 minutes learning about restorative justice and conflict resolution opportunities in my own community or state.
Simplicity
Replace Screen Time with Other Activities
I will replace 40 minutes of screen time each day with other activities.

Amber Caswell 2/07/2026 10:05 AMI love that we are doing this, it helps me stay intentional in what I'm doing, and I appreciate that. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityWhat did you notice in implementing this challenge? Was it hard to choose other activities over screen time? How did you decide to spend your time?
Amber Caswell 2/07/2026 10:03 AMWhat I noticed is that when I'm not connected to my phone, I'm way more present and able to focus and relax fully. The last couple of weeks, my family has been sick, so TV is the go-to. Instead, I decided to turn on music in the background and have coloring time and LEGO time. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthHow did expressing gratitude or performing acts of kindness impact you and the recipient? Did anything surprise you about your experience?
Amber Caswell 2/07/2026 10:01 AMIt had a good impact, and it always makes me feel good. The recipient I would think, maybe feels like there is still hope for humanity, and small acts of kindness can really bring people together. What surprised me was how grateful the lady was, she almost hugged me, she was so kind, and I felt like I was just doing my duty to help. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyWhat are other easy things you could do to save energy and reduce your environmental footprint?
Amber Caswell 2/07/2026 9:58 AMSome other things would be to unplug my coffee pot at night or before I leave the house, and any other small appliances that take up energy while no one is using them. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyHow is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?
Amber Caswell 2/07/2026 9:57 AMI'm not entirely sure how my electricity is generated other than it comes from PGE. Maybe from a dam? I think it would impact the animals in the water first. -
