While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

A barrier for me is the inconvenience of having a reusable bottle with me all the time. This is because when I'm out, I often dont have anywhere to put the bottle and I am awkwardly holding it, while a bottled water bottle, is smaller and I am able to bring it anywhere and finish it quickly. I can make it a permanent habit to bring a reusable water bottle with me all the time by bringing a bag to hold the water bottle and get rid of the awkawrdness of holding a reusable water bottle.

    • Great idea! If anything, you can buy a clip on bottle, which you could clip onto a knapsack or other smaller bag. Alternatively, find a bag that has a water bottle sleeve (they do exist, I've seen it before). Always better to start small than to not start at all though!!

The easiest thing is to have a small backpack that you could put it in. That way, your hands don't have to hold anything!

What did you learn about your digital habits that surprised you the most?

Something that surprised me was the way that my digital habits contribute to the carbon footprint. Streaming videos, sports or playing video games, all caused my carbon footprint score to go up higher to 9.4 tonnes CO₂e. This surprised me because although I spend a regular amount of time online, it still plays a roll in the environmental impact.

Yup. Don't be fooled by people saying online is more environmentally friendly ... it's actually the opposite in many ways ... especially AI.
