Individual actions are important, but people and organizations working together can make a real impact. I will share a carbon or energy calculator with a friend and invite them to calculate the carbon footprint of their living space.
Health
Engage in Joyful Movement
I will spend 30 minutes doing an activity where I'm both moving my body and enjoying myself.
Health
Prioritize Getting Enough Sleep
Good sleep is essential for a healthy body and mind. I will prioritize getting 8 hours of quality sleep each night and develop a bedtime routine that supports rest and relaxation.
Transportation
Walk Instead of Driving
I will walk 2 miles each day instead of driving.

I will enjoy the sunrise and/or sunset each day.
Water
Take 5-Minute Showers
I will save up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water each day by taking 5-minute showers.

Learn How to Save the Pollinators
I will spend 30 minutes learning which plants support local native pollinators and grow some in containers, a campus garden, or at home if space allows.
Waste
Research Local Waste and Landfill Sites
I will spend 30 minutes finding out where landfills and/or toxic waste sites are situated in my region and which communities are most impacted by these sites.
Waste
Learn About and Practice Sustainable Fashion
I will spend 30 minutes learning about sustainable fashion and begin trying to practice it in my own life.
Water
Conserve Toilet Water
I will save water in my dorm or shared living space by only flushing the toilet when necessary—potentially conserving up to 12 gallons (45 L) per day.
Water
Learn About Water Justice
Access to clean water is a basic right, yet not everyone has it. I will spend 30 minutes learning about water justice issues and who is affected.
Simplicity
Go for a Daily Walk
I will take a walk each day to clear my mind, get some fresh air, and support my physical and mental health as a student.
Water
Understand My Water Footprint
Each of us has a water footprint, directly linked to our daily activities as well as the water required in the production of things we use each day. Understanding our water use is important for a healthy planet. I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste, then share what I learned on the feed.
Community
Engage In Active Listening
I will practice actively listening to a friend, family member, classmate, acquaintance, or someone who I may disagree with in at least 2 conversations.
Community
Learn How Voter Suppression Affects My Community
I will spend at least 25 minutes finding out what local laws, policies, and practices keep people from voting in my community.
Energy
Learn About Renewable Energy
I will spend 30 minutes learning more about renewable energy alternatives (i.e. solar, wind, biomass) in my region.
Energy
Organize An Ecochallenge Course
I will organize one of Ecochallenge.org's discussion courses, such as Powering a Bright Future, with classmates, friends, co-workers, or family.
