This is it, everyone! Let's get these points up!!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity
What are your top 3-5 core values? How did you narrow it down to those as being your core values?

I thought about what I strive for, even when I struggle to demonstrate such actions. They are: Compassion, Drive, Enjoyment, Creativity, and Community.

Using a re-usable water bottle has been so easy and genuinely helpful to incorporate into my day-to-day routine!

We got this guys! It's not a CHALLENGE... get your ECO on!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Community
What did you learn about in the documentary you watched? How did it make you feel?

Over the weekend, I watched "The Fight" with my group members as it directly relates to our presentation on the ACLU. It goes into depth about the battles that many humans fight for themselves and for others and the ACLU's role. It made me feel privileged and enlightened, especially as it went into more depth than our office visit.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health
How does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?

Today I practiced gratitude for those around me rather than just the Earth, as I have recently been doing. I realized the comfort I feel in my family and friends and how that has been the main factor in creating the person I am today. I found this exercise to be extremely fulfilling and enjoyable.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature
Kathleen Dean Moore says that a sense of gratitude leads to a sense of moral obligation. Do you agree? How can we cultivate a sense of gratitude as individuals, and as a society?

Being with nature and focusing on the environment around me enabled me to appreciate the world around me. We get so wrapped up in our day-to-day tasks and routines that we forget to show gratitude for the world around us. This exercise allowed me to remove myself from my normal routine and connect with the Earth!

Let's use mugs! No need to keep wasting cups when you can have your own mug every day!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy
What are other easy things you could do to save energy and reduce your environmental footprint?

Not taking super long showers saves water and not keeping the A/C on, especially when I am not in my room, saves energy.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

Some of the barriers are buying water due to convenience and I have able to ease this habit of mine by carrying my own water bottle or mug and filling it at one of the many convenient filtered water fountains all around campus whenever I need.
