REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterDo you know where your campus or community gets its water? If not, how could you find out?
Analise Collis 11/03/2025 4:11 PMUpon research my houses taps technically get water from multiple sources, the primary supply is imported from the Colorado River and Northern California, supplemented by local and recycled water. While PLNU's water is also supplied from SDCWA from these same sources -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportationHalf of all trips made in the US are three miles or less; 72% of them are driven. Does this statistic describe your own transportation habits? If so, how might you incorporate more muscle-powered transportation in your daily life?
Analise Collis 11/03/2025 4:09 PMI think we live in cities that are centered around commuting, and driving to work/school. I do drive but luckily very short distances cause I live locally. I am also lucky enough to be able to walk to the beach, my friends houses, yoga studios, my local co-op and to stores which is very nice to reduce my travel via car. There are many days I carpool to school and totally avoid driving my own car. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityWhat would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?
Analise Collis 11/03/2025 4:07 PMI would like to invest more time reflecting on what I am grateful for. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthHow does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet? What fruits or vegetables did you try this week, and which was your favorite?
Analise Collis 11/03/2025 4:07 PMEating as many fruits and vegetables as I can in a day increases the nutrients, vitamins and minerals I am consuming and my body needs to think well, excercise, move and live life at my best. I also love eating seasonally to give my body what it needs in different seasons. My all-time favourites are leafy greens, pineapples, sweet potatoes, ginger and carrots. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityWhat makes you feel connected to your campus, your neighbors, or another kind of community in your life?
Analise Collis 9/30/2025 3:16 PMI feel connected to my community by shopping locally, attending local events and actively talking to my neighbours and classmates. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityFresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?
Analise Collis 9/26/2025 11:49 AMWalking each day allows me to slow down and think. Not only do I have the ability to notice more of my surroundings by not rushing to a destination but also sharing time outside with neighbours and friends. Fresh air and movement should be experienced each day to keep us connected to our place, local area and community. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodWhat is your perception of organic food? After cooking with and eating organic food, has your perception changed?
Analise Collis 9/26/2025 11:47 AMFrom a biological standpoint organic means with carbon. But from a holisitic view organic produce is free of chemicals, pesticides and fumes. This is not only much healthier for our bodies but also for our environment (rivers, oceans, lakes, fields and grasslands). Therefore, when I can I choose to buy organic certified products. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteWhat stands in your way of making a reusable mug part of your campus routine? How can you set yourself up for success?
Analise Collis 9/19/2025 10:48 AMgood time management! I always need to remember to slow down and remember my reusable mugs/containers before I rush out the door to save from disposable or single use packaging of food or beverages. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureFather Thomas Berry says, "... our primary purpose is celebration. Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth." What is your response to Berry's assertion?
Analise Collis 9/19/2025 10:46 AMI couldn't agree more! Watching the sun set each day is a daily ritual for me, it signifies the end of the day. It is a moment where I can reflect on what brought me gratitude, the lessons I learnt that day or the time I shared with people around me. This practice establishes a relationship between people and the natural cycles of time and earth.
