Understand My Water Footprint
Each of us has a water footprint, directly linked to our daily activities as well as the water required in the production of things we use each day. Understanding our water use is important for a healthy planet. I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste, then share what I learned on the feed.

REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyHow is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?
Noah Conigliaro 102 11/05/2025 4:14 PMThe largest way electrictity is generated in Pennyslvania is from natural gas. There also is a nuclear energy plant called 3 mile island. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyWhat are other easy things you could do to save energy and reduce your environmental footprint?
Noah Conigliaro 102 11/05/2025 4:10 PMRemove items from charging if they are already fully charged. Along with powering off tvs and any other devices that arent required to be on. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyYour utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your ZIP code, region, and/or state. What other steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage? If you live on campus or in shared housing, you may not receive a utility bill—so what are some other ways you can reduce energy use in your living space?
Noah Conigliaro 102 11/05/2025 4:09 PMI have taken my own set of steps to reduce the amount of energy that I consume on a daily use. I always make sure lights are turned off when im not home along with the a/c or heat being off aswell. When using my thermostat I never set it to high or low. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterWhat did you notice about your habits or routines when limiting your showers to five minutes? What changes—if any—do you think you’ll continue long-term?
Noah Conigliaro 102 11/05/2025 4:06 PMFor this challange I have already always taken short showers. I know that lots of gallons of water are wasted during showers. With that I know that this will stay long term as I have been doing this for a while. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterDo you know where your campus or community gets its water? If not, how could you find out?
Noah Conigliaro 102 11/05/2025 4:05 PMI believe the water is from the York Water Company, their water originates in the watershed of the codurus creek, which from there it is treated, stored, and distributed through a network of reservoirs, treatment plants and piping.-
Prestin Punchasutthi 103 11/05/2025 7:02 PMI found this to be very interesting as I'm not a local to York. Thank you for providing information I did not know.
