REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportationHow has your access to various kinds of transportation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?
Josie de Leeuw 10/31/2025 10:18 AMI am such a big fan of trains! Growing up on the east coast, I have always felt like trains have connected all of the wonderful cities and it is so much more energy efficient than driving or flying. Amtrak please lower your prices!! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityWhat makes you feel connected to your campus, your neighbors, or another kind of community in your life?
Josie de Leeuw 10/30/2025 4:39 PMEngaging in spirited conversations with my neighbors and my peers makes me feel connected! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthWhat are some ways you care for your physical and emotional well-being as a student? How can you support others in doing the same?
Josie de Leeuw 10/29/2025 12:11 PMI try to care for my physical and emotional well-being by balancing schoolwork, work, time with friends, and alone time. I also try to get lots of sleep and encourage the people around me to also take care of themselves. -
Josie de Leeuw 10/29/2025 9:45 AMI love to share food with my housemates! I was eating cheese and crackers and I asked if anyone wanted a cracker with a piece of goat cheese and a drizzle of honey and they enjoyed it! A win for everyone. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthHow did expressing gratitude or performing acts of kindness impact you and the recipient? Did anything surprise you about your experience?
Josie de Leeuw 10/28/2025 9:22 AMIt impacted me and the recipient by reinforcing our friendship. Random kind acts are a good way of showing you care for others. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthWhat's your favorite activity(ies) in which you experience joy while being active and moving?
Josie de Leeuw 10/26/2025 2:14 PMBoy do I love that swing set at Haverford College! They really should make swings more readily available for adults I will #neverstopswinging -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthConsider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What changes did you make to improve your sleep, and how did they affect your day?
Josie de Leeuw 10/24/2025 6:04 PMLast night, I slept 10 hours and it was glorious. It is hard to prioritize sleep when you have schoolwork, jobs, friends, and a thesis to write. But golly gee did I have some weird dreams about mice. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityFresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?
Josie de Leeuw 10/21/2025 11:18 AMI love to take a walk either to think or to not think. Being outside in the quiet reminds me how tiny I am in the grand scheme of things and how my thesis will get done and this is just a temporarily difficult time in my life. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodHow do our current food growing and manufacturing processes affect our future and the future of Earth?
Josie de Leeuw 10/18/2025 8:51 AMI went to a local farm with some friends to do buy some pumpkins and get some warm apple cider. We spent 45 minutes in the corn maze and found out that the farm has some ethical issues with the way they treat their animals. That was upsetting but not surprising for this type of business model. They had deer in cages!! So odd and upsetting. Their "Jersey Devil" looked like the count from Sesame Street and it is NOT supposed to look like that.
