Drew's actions
Simplicity
Meditate or Create a Moment of Silence
I will meditate or create a moment of silence for 20 minutes each day to reflect on things important to me.
Health
Exercise Daily
Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 30 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.
Community
Talk To My Friends and Classmates
I will research the social or environmental issues in my community that matter to me and tell 1 friends and classmates each day about what I learn. I will also share what I learn on the Ecochallenge feed.
Food
Enjoy a Meatless Meal
Producing 1 kg of beef emits as much greenhouse gas as driving 150 miles, meanwhile, 1 kg of veggies or grains leaves a much lighter footprint! This week, I’ll shrink my climate impact by having 1 meatless meals and/or 1 vegan meals each day.
Nature
Enjoy the Sunrise or Sunset
I will enjoy the sunrise and/or sunset each day.
Health
Enjoy Fruits and Veggies
Adding fruits and vegetables to our meals nourishes our body and the planet. I will prepare and enjoy 2 servings of a variety of colorful fruits and veggies.
Energy
Turn Off Lights and Electronics
I will keep lights, electronics, and appliances turned off when not using them.
Nature
Spend Time Outside
I will replace 30 minutes per day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside.
Transportation
Share Rides with Others
I will sign up for a car-sharing service or coordinate ride shares with roommates, classmates, or campus peers to reduce the number of vehicles on the road.
Transportation
Walk Instead of Driving
I will walk 1 miles each day instead of driving.
Waste
Reduce Single-Use Disposables
Historically, marginalized and low-income communities live closer to landfills, contributing to a multitude of health problems. I will find out how I can limit single-use items and do my best to limit the waste I generate. I will keep 5 containers out of the landfill each day.
