bryna's actions
Waste
Use a Reusable Water Bottle
I will keep 2 disposable plastic bottle(s) from entering the waste stream by using a reusable water bottle.
Energy
Switch to Cold Water
I will switch to washing my clothes in cold water, saving up to 133 lbs of CO2 a month and 1,600 lbs of CO2 over the course of the next year.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Transportation
Car Share
I will sign up for a car-sharing service or organize car sharing with my neighbors or classmates to cut down on the number of vehicles on the road.
Transportation
Walk Instead
I will walk 5 mile(s) each day instead of driving and avoid sending up to (___) lbs of CO2 into Earth's atmosphere.

bryna dowell 11/11/2024 12:40 PMMy campus ecochallenge is going exceptionally well. I have dedicated myself to a few different actions including switching to cold water, car sharing, and skipping the straw. These have been relatively difficult as I prefer warm water when washing clothes and warm water when showering or washing my hands. I prefer driving alone as well, so car-sharing is something I am going to have to get used to. Switching to the straw will be different for me as well as I usually always grab a straw for the convenience of it. Although it will be changes that I have to get used to over time, it makes me happy to do it as I know that I am helping to upkeep the health of the earth.
