  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Switch to Cold Water
What do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?

That's up to my parents, but probably put it to other necessities such as groceries.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use a Reusable Mug
Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?

    Bohema Drane 12/12/2023 9:33 PM
It wasn't very hard for me to make the switch once it occurred to me that I could do so, because a big part of it was just wanting my drink to stay warm which isn't often with foam cups.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Enjoy the Sunrise/Sunset
Father Thomas Berry says, "... our primary purpose is celebration. Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth." What is your response to Berry's assertion?

    Bohema Drane's avatar
    Bohema Drane 12/12/2023 9:29 PM
I agree with Berry's assertion, and think nature and the universe as whole should be celebrated for its beauty.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Simplicity Go For A Daily Walk Outside
Fresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?

    Bohema Drane's avatar
    Bohema Drane 12/12/2023 9:25 PM
Taking a walk everyday gives me more energy and makes me feel more productive.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Eat Mindfully
Mindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How do your eating experiences differ when practicing mindfulness?

    Bohema Drane's avatar
    Bohema Drane 12/12/2023 9:05 PM
It helps me take time to appreciate what I'm consuming.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Choose LED Bulbs
Switching out your lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! In what other ways can you exercise your civic duty to protect the environment and reduce carbon emissions?

    Bohema Drane's avatar
    Bohema Drane 12/11/2023 9:20 PM
Relating to the replacement of light bulbs with LED lights I am going to keep from leaving lights on when I leave a room to keep from wasted energy.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Practice Gratitude for Earth
Kathleen Dean Moore says that a sense of gratitude leads to a sense of moral obligation. Do you agree? How can we cultivate a sense of gratitude as individuals, and as a society?

    Bohema Drane's avatar
    Bohema Drane 12/11/2023 9:16 PM
It's very difficult to treat something you're grateful for poorly, so I agree that there is a moral obligation to treat the environment kindly once you take time to appreciate what it gives us. I think promoting time spent outside and interacting with nature(such as gardening), gives people an appreciation for the land they live on.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water Use Reusable Bottles
What are some of the needs that water meets or benefits that water provides for you?

    Bohema Drane's avatar
    Bohema Drane 12/11/2023 9:08 PM
I get nauseous really often and having water is often a must for me so I always try to have it on me. Also staying hydrated in general gives me more energy.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Water Brush My Teeth Without Running Water
What is the main water source in your region? If you don't know, how could you find out?

    Bohema Drane's avatar
    Bohema Drane 12/11/2023 6:19 AM
The main water source in my region is located in Black Mountain and is collected from springs and streams from a protected mountain region.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste RESEARCH LOCAL WASTE SITES
In what neighborhoods or areas of your region are landfills or other waste sites located? Which communities are most affected by these locations?

    Bohema Drane's avatar
    Bohema Drane 11/20/2023 9:06 AM
People who live near rivers or lakes that get toxic chemicals poured into them are affected by their interactions with the lake. Lower income neighborhoods get caught with the burden of trash near their house/neighborhood.
