In your opinion, how do social inequalities diminish a strong sense of community?

With social inequalities, it is sometimes difficult to put yourself in others shoes. If everyone had the same problems in the same environment, then everyone would be able to sympathize.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Explore My Area
How might spending more time outdoors enhance your brainpower?

I think spending time outdoors is super fun and can make 2 hours seem like it was spent well. When I went on the nature walk I zoned out and took everything in. I was able to take a break from the work and just think of things to myself. It made me more self conscious aswell.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Community Meet My Neighbors
In what ways can you create more real and meaningful interactions with friends — or strangers — each week?

    John Endy (101) 4/10/2024 7:01 PM
I think that talking to people on my dorm level gives you more of a self fulfillment than anything. Everyone is unique and talking even in passing truly makes a big difference. I think commenting on their shirt if their an Eagles fan for example makes a big difference since people have done the same to me when I see them again. It's the small things in interactions.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Water Insulate Water Pipes and Water Heater
How do you think climate change will affect your region’s water supply? Think about the effects of weather, storms, salinity, and sea level rise, among other changes. How can you find out more about climate change’s impact to your region's water?

    John Endy (101)'s avatar
    John Endy (101) 4/09/2024 12:43 PM
Climate change affects how much water is in cycle. With less water in cycle, we see less rainfall. With less rainfall we see less plants because they cannot survive. Looking up east coast/ PA water is easy with the department of PA website.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water 5-Minute Showers
Name some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?

    John Endy (101)'s avatar
    John Endy (101) 4/07/2024 12:02 PM
A lot of issues with the health of impact is pollution both locally and globally. Pollution is a big issue considering there are now even water land fills. The lack of biodiversity in today's world is a big contributor into the health of the water and planet. We can let Forrest and other materials grow instead of continuing to harvest and to use more biodegradable materials.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use Reusable Bags
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you or aren't allowed to use the one you brought? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

I've found that often times when I'm going to Lidl ill use my bookbag. This helps the environment plus it is easier than carrying the disposable bags.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Track my Purchases
What have you noticed about your purchases? Where are you inclined to make shifts, if any?

    John Endy (101)'s avatar
    John Endy (101) 4/02/2024 5:11 PM
I've noticed most of my purchases have been with food and are spontaneous. I think I can cut back on multiple trips and focus on one big trip for grocerys and food.
