  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
What is one food choice that you make, or could make, that would do more good and less harm?

Buying food from local produce stands, like vegetables or fruits

I already eat a plant based diet and buy most of my stuff from Canada besides noodles/pasta and bananas. I would like to eat more local foods, personally.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation
Take a moment to think of places you frequent often (work, grocery store, school, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?

    Jacob Evans 902's avatar
    Jacob Evans 902 10/20/2025 9:12 AM
I utilize the shuttle on campus at my college to get around campus instead of using my own personal car.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity
What are your top 3-5 core values? How did you narrow it down to those as being your core values?

    Jacob Evans 902's avatar
    Jacob Evans 902 10/20/2025 9:11 AM
My top 3 core values are my health, responsibility, and respect. I have to be able to take care of my health to live, I need to be responsible for my education, my work, and taking care of those around me, and I need to respect everyone in order for them to have respect for me.

I would say that mine are Creativity, Kindness and Clarity. Creativity drives my constant desire to contribute to new ideas and solutions for how things can work more effectively. Kindness drives my desire to be open, considerate and aware of others lives and states of being. Clarity drives my desire to always be aligned with ethics in terms of being responsible for my choices and consequences.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Community
What was it like to actively listen to someone? How did both people and the conversations benefit from active listening?

    Jacob Evans 902's avatar
    Jacob Evans 902 10/20/2025 9:08 AM
You are more involved in the conversation and allows you to better understand someones situation and perspective.

I've been practicing non-violent communication over this year, and have found it reduces my stress levels, allows space for disagreement, and helps me elegantly navigate social situations by focusing on empathy. It uses a 4 step model to understand self and others through observing impact of actions, recognizing our feelings about that, sharing what we need that may be missing, and requesting a way to meet it with the other person. It's focused on sharing instead of demanding or convincing.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature
How can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?

    Jacob Evans 902's avatar
    Jacob Evans 902 10/20/2025 9:07 AM
It helps you connect with nature and make you more aware of the world around you. It can also make you realize how important nature is for your life and others lives as well.

It's going well, I am learning a lot.
