Summer's actions
Health
Enjoy Fruits and Veggies
Adding fruits and vegetables to our meals nourishes our body and the planet. I will prepare and enjoy 3 servings of a variety of colorful fruits and veggies.
Energy
Turn Off Lights and Electronics
I will keep lights, electronics, and appliances turned off when not using them.
Simplicity
Think About My Core Values
We may find more meaning and joy in life when our actions are aligned with our personal values. I will determine what my top 3-5 core values are so that I can better align my actions with them.
Water
Brush My Teeth Without Running Water
I will save up to 4 gallons (15 L) of water each day by turning it off while brushing my teeth.
Waste
Use a Reusable Mug
I will avoid sending 2 disposable cups to the landfill each day by using a reusable mug.
Waste
Repair a Broken Item
I will repair at least one item that is broken, but is repairable. This might be items like garden tools, sewing machine, small appliances, electronics, clothing, and more.

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthHow does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet? What fruits or vegetables did you try this week, and which was your favorite?
Summer Field 2/17/2026 7:28 PMI've always been kind of weird about food, and I do really like fruits and vegetables because they are a "lighter" food than meat, which I consider "heavier." I had a lot of strawberries, oranges, and kale, which was so good especially because I just got some new strawberries. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteWhat did you fix and how did it go? Share a few pics if you can!
Summer Field 2/14/2026 6:25 AMI fixed a tan sweater that I own. It was starting to unravel at the cuff of the sleeves, and I used a sewing kit I have at home to fix it. It went fine, I am definitely not the best seamstress but it was at least less noticeable than the rip that was forming.-
Savannah Samano 2/17/2026 12:57 PMOmg, I love fixing my clothes. Now that theres no affordable tailors near me, I resort to small fixes like cuffing my sweatpants and tying off (with a hair tie) the ends of pants (if cuffing doesn't work). Even though sometimes it looks a bit odd, it's way better than throwing something away!

REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteWhat stands in your way of making a reusable mug part of your campus routine? How can you set yourself up for success?
Summer Field 1/29/2026 5:11 PMLocal coffee shops usually use disposable cups, so making my own hot drinks at home makes me use my mugs instead of a paper cup. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterDo you know where your campus or community gets its water? If not, how could you find out?
Summer Field 1/20/2026 9:44 AMMy community gets its water from our local water tower, but I'm not sure where the water in the tower comes from. I can do some research online to find out where the water comes from. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityWhat are your top 3-5 core values? How did you narrow it down to those as being your core values?
Summer Field 1/13/2026 7:58 PM1. Honesty
2. Integrity
3. Compassion
I narrowed it down to these because we all deserve a little more love and care for one another. I also extremely value being honest about your actions to create change and doing the right thing, not just recognition.
