Being grateful centers my mind and my heart towards positive thinking and encourages me to focus on the good and the beautiful.

I notice that beginning the day with even three minutes of gratitude greatly affects my brain chemistry for the rest of the day. It increases my threshold of things I can tolerate and makes optimism much easier.

I found I didn't have much overall trash on the day I decided to collect it all in one place. This is a result of several things. I already have begun to use permanent dishes and napkins instead of disposables, which has significantly reduced my trash load, and I was able to put several things in our recycle bin, which also reduces the trash that I leave. Finally, if we restarted the compost bin we used to have, I would have had even less trash!

I see we have several students who have signed up and joined the team. I hope we can get the rest of the class involved soon.
