What makes you feel connected to your campus, your neighbors, or another kind of community in your life?

For this week's eco challenge on visions of suitability,
The sharing of experiences, achieving common goals, and providing mutual support are often key elements that bind individuals together. On campus, clubs, sports teams, and academic groups tend to make individuals feel like they belong. The ability to cultivate connections with neighbors can also be cultivated by participating in neighborhood events or volunteering for community projects. In the end, feeling connected occurs when you engage with others and build relationships based on shared values and interests.
Its very for people who are scared to someone new and make new friends, That was me but starting college just brighten a bit of me to get out of my shell and talk to people and start study groups and it works everytime.

What is one thing you can do to help your community become more sustainable?

Getting your community involved in recycling programs is one of the best ways to help it become more sustainable. Recycling encourages recycling and reduces waste sent to landfills, conserves resources, and minimizes pollution. As a member of the community, you can participate in recycling by educating others, advocating for better recycling infrastructure, and participating in the sorting and recycling of materials that need to be recycled. An economy that is more sustainable can be achieved by supporting initiatives that encourage the use of recycled materials in manufacturing.
I recently moved in an apartment, and when I see cardboard or plastic bottles that are in the trash instead of the recycling i always move it because why should it be there when theyre a recycling bin.

the trimet has improved a lot these couple of years by posting a bus schedule now since it would be a code that you would have to look up to know when the bus is coming.
I live by a trimet and max station in Clackamas, I would be able to pick up trash around and also trimet has a spot where theyre seating which is really nice instead of the one seat on every trimet spot. but i would keep it clean.

An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four in the US spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?

living with a big family we used to buy too many groceries that we dont even use and i realized it after always cleaning up the fridge. I know that it was getting at the point that is wasting money so i helped out by getting groceries and make sure what we are gonna use. Because we had too many stuff that it was just sitting there so i would just put it in a bag and put it in my car so i can hand it out to homeless. But no more wasting food.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Go Paperless
Reducing your paper mail can reduce mental clutter as well as physical waste -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?

I have been going paperless by using my documents on my ipad now. I used to print out lab manuals and stuff for my classes but now i just download it on my ipad but either way using paper i am going to end up wasting it. I also barely get any mail. When i do its somthing important that i just keep.
