Kaitlyn Heling 4/10/2024 6:49 AMFor my campus ecochallenege, I am trying to drive less or not at all each day. I chose this challenge because I often find myself driving around aimlessly when I'm bored and have nothing to do but that is emitting a lot of unnecessary carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. One way that I am cutting back on the amount I drive is finding others methods of transportation. I have either just been walking places because they are within a certain proximity, carpooling with friends, or taking public transporation such as the bus. I have found it easier to ot take my car when other people will come with me to run any errands because it can make the walk or the bus ride more fun. I found it interesting that when I updated my progress on the ecochallenege dashboard, I said that I did not drive 10 miles like I usually do and the feedback I got said that I saved about 7 pounds of carbon dioxide from going into the air. I think it will be very interesting to see how many pounds of carbon dioxide I can save from going into the atmosphere by the end of this challenge.
