REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterWhat did you notice about your habits or routines when limiting your showers to five minutes? What changes—if any—do you think you’ll continue long-term?
Annalese Henson 901 10/22/2025 8:35 AMWhen I limited my showers to five minutes, I noticed that I became more aware of how much water I was using and how much time I spent on daily routines. I started being more efficient turning off the water while soaping up and getting ready faster. It also made me realize that long showers aren’t always necessary to feel clean and refreshed. Long-term, I think I’ll continue keeping my showers shorter to save water and time, and to be more mindful of my daily habits. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureWhat podcast did you choose, and what did you learn from it?
Annalese Henson 901 10/22/2025 8:34 AMI chose the good nature podcast. From it, I learned about the inspiring work of conservationists around the world who are protecting wildlife and restoring ecosystems. The episodes showed how people from different backgrounds, like scientists, artists, and activists, all contribute to helping the environment. It taught me that even small actions can make a big difference and that there’s a lot of hope and creativity in conservation work. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthHow did exercising each day impact your physical or mental well-being? What activity did you enjoy most, and why?
Annalese Henson 901 10/22/2025 8:33 AMExercising each day had a positive impact on both my physical and mental well-being. Physically, I felt stronger, had more energy, and noticed an improvement in my endurance. Mentally, daily exercise helped reduce stress, improved my mood, and made me feel more focused and motivated throughout the day. The activity I enjoyed most was walking or jogging outside because it gave me a chance to enjoy fresh air, clear my mind, and appreciate nature while staying active. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthConsider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What changes did you make to improve your sleep, and how did they affect your day?
Annalese Henson 901 10/22/2025 5:01 AMRight now, I usually get around 6–7 hours of sleep each night, but I’d like to shift my sleep pattern to get closer to 8 hours consistently. To improve my sleep, I started going to bed earlier and avoiding my phone about 30 minutes before bed. I also made my room darker and quieter to help me fall asleep faster. These changes made a big difference. I felt more energized during the day, found it easier to focus, and wasn’t as irritable in the mornings. Overall, getting better sleep improved both my mood and productivity. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthHow did expressing gratitude or performing acts of kindness impact you and the recipient? Did anything surprise you about your experience?
Annalese Henson 901 10/21/2025 4:34 PMExpressing gratitude and performing acts of kindness had a positive impact on both me and the recipient. For me, it made me feel happier, more connected, and more aware of the good things and people in my life. It also helped reduce stress and made my day feel more meaningful. For the recipient, it seemed to brighten their mood and make them feel appreciated or cared for. What surprised me most was how small gestures, like saying thank you or doing something nice, could make such a big difference in someone’s day and even create a ripple effect of kindness. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyHow is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?
Annalese Henson 901 10/21/2025 9:46 AMIn Pennsylvania, electricity is generated from a mix of energy sources, mainly natural gas, nuclear power, coal, and some renewables like wind, solar, and hydroelectric power. Natural gas is the largest source and produces less pollution than coal, but it still releases carbon dioxide and methane, which contribute to climate change. Coal plants create more air pollution, acid rain, and toxic ash that can harm soil and water, while nuclear power produces little air pollution but creates radioactive waste that must be stored safely. Renewable energy has a smaller environmental impact, though large wind and solar farms can sometimes affect wildlife habitats. These energy sources also impact animals and humans, coal mining and gas drilling can destroy habitats and pollute water, while emissions from fossil fuels contribute to health problems such as asthma and heart disease. On the other hand, cleaner energy sources like solar and wind improve air quality and provide safer, more sustainable options for people and the environment. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityWhat makes you feel connected to your campus, your neighbors, or another kind of community in your life?
Annalese Henson 901 10/20/2025 4:17 AMI feel most connected to my community when people genuinely care about one another. On campus, I love when classmates help each other out or share advice, it makes me feel supported. In my neighborhood, even small things like friendly waves or checking in on each other create a sense of belonging. Those moments remind me that community is built on kindness and connection, not just the place we live or study. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityIn your opinion, how do social inequalities diminish a strong sense of community?
Annalese Henson 901 10/20/2025 4:16 AMI think social inequalities make it hard for people to feel connected because they create unfair gaps between us. When some people have more opportunities or are treated better than others, it causes frustration and distance instead of unity. It’s hard to feel like part of one community when everyone isn’t being supported equally. I believe a strong community comes from understanding, kindness, and fairness, and inequality takes away from that. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterDo you know where your campus or community gets its water? If not, how could you find out?
Annalese Henson 901 10/19/2025 10:05 AMI'm not totally sure where mt community gets its water from, but i'd like to find out. I could check my city's website or look at my water bill since it usually list the local water authority. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyWhat kinds of discussions did you have, or are you hoping to have with friends about climate change?
Annalese Henson 901 10/19/2025 10:00 AMId like to talk with my friends about how climate change affects us and what small things we can do to help. It doesn't have to be super serious, just sharing ideas like using less plastic, recycling more, or turning off lights when we're not suing them. I think it'd be cool if we all tried to make little changes togetehr.
