Participant Feed

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water 5-Minute Showers
Name some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?

    Camille Hunt's avatar
    Camille Hunt 12/08/2023 7:39 AM
Humans using pesticides or other chemicals can cause water to get contaminates and that causes bad water conditions. Wee as a community can stop doing things like mountain top minning to help stop the contamination of ground water.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use Reusable Bags
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you or aren't allowed to use the one you brought? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

    Camille Hunt's avatar
    Camille Hunt 12/05/2023 7:57 AM
I would take the plastic bag and then I would reuse it. Like my family uses plastic bags from my dogs poop. I would try my best though to not use the plastic one.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Turn it off
How is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?

    Camille Hunt's avatar
    Camille Hunt 12/05/2023 7:51 AM
In Asheville I get energy from the Duke power plant which is mainly natural gas but also is oil. This does not help himans becasue it releases co2 and harmful things into the air. It also reduces fossil fuel that will eventually run out.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Simplicity De-Clutter My Home or Dorm Room
How can you prevent yourself from accumulating more unnecessary things in the future?

    Camille Hunt's avatar
    Camille Hunt 12/05/2023 7:44 AM
For me I always forget to put my laundry away once I clean it and I just let it sit on the floor so I need to work on putting it up once its clean. I also need to make sure I throw things away as soon as I am done with them so they don't pile up.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Water Brush My Teeth Without Running Water
What is the main water source in your region? If you don't know, how could you find out?

    Camille Hunt's avatar
    Camille Hunt 12/01/2023 7:30 AM
The main source of water in our area is from rivers and reservoirs. You can find this out by learning about the water cleaning facilities.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Community Talk To My Friends and Classmates
What makes you feel connected to your campus, your neighbors, or another kind of community in your life?

    Camille Hunt's avatar
    Camille Hunt 11/30/2023 11:45 AM
What makes me feel connected to my campus is how I am an active member of it. I participate in sports and am a part of SGA and this helps me to feel more connected.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Community Join my Student Government or Local Group
How can your community support inclusive decision making?

    Camille Hunt's avatar
    Camille Hunt 11/25/2023 3:47 PM
My community can support inclusive decision making by giving everyone equal opportunity to make decisions and run for student government or to voice their opinions when making decisions.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water Fix Leaky Faucets
Fixing leaky faucets is one of the tasks that we can easily put off until later. Good job on completing this action! How will you use the momentum from completing this action to increase your water efficiency in other ways?

    Camille Hunt's avatar
    Camille Hunt 11/25/2023 3:38 PM
I will use the momentum of completing this action to motivate me to save water in ways like taking shorter showers. This was a small problem that I often leave unfixed so, it feels good to finally fix it.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Watch a Documentary about Food Sovereignty
How does food sovereignty address the complex transition from localized food systems to modern global food systems?

    Camille Hunt's avatar
    Camille Hunt 11/21/2023 6:46 AM
Food sovereignty addresses the complex transition from localized food systems to modern global food systems by showing how now we could ship food but we really don't and it exposes that.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Explore My Area
How might spending more time outdoors enhance your brainpower?

    Camille Hunt 11/20/2023 1:12 PM
Spending time outdoors allows you to get oxygen and breathe fresh air which will help you to think and function better. Being able to think better will help you complete tasks and be productive.
