    At school Im always walking and when at home I try to walk to my destinations because I don’t want to use the car when I don’t absolutely have to.

    Rachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?

    I believe that being with nature brings us closer to achieving our spiritual and emotional development. We live in a society that is always in a rush but it’s the time spent with nature that helps us take a step back and appreciate our surroundings

    I definitely use coffee cups because I drink two coffees a day. I could get a reusable coffee mug instead.

    Mindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How do your eating experiences differ when practicing mindfulness?

    I feel like I enjoyed my food more without the distraction of my phone. I also tried to eat with a friend and that also helped me enjoy my meals.

    Fresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?

    I feel less stressed and I’m learning to enjoy myself and mature. Today I went on a walk with my friend and it was even better. We both were able to enjoy each other without any distractions.

    While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

    Sometimes water bottles are big and heavy while plastic bottles are light and smaller. I think having my backpack has helped me with bringing my water bottle around.

    Notice how much time you were spending checking email away from work and make note of that. Now that you have stepped away from it and have not been checking, what changes are you noticing in your thoughts, use of time, stress and energy levels?

    I feel less stressed because I’m not worried about emails from teachers or emails about assignments. This time is relieving and I feel happier.
