  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Enjoy the Sunrise/Sunset
Father Thomas Berry says, "... our primary purpose is celebration. Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth." What is your response to Berry's assertion?

I think this point of view is very interesting. We are so focused on the things that are happening and changing in our lives constantly. Yet, the two things that stay the same are the sun rise and sunset. It makes us forget about what is going on around us for a moment and can be very relaxing.

It helps us not focus on the stressful things in life and gives us time to reflect on the great things life has to offer. It keeps us motivated then by focusing on those good things and realizing that just by doing our best, we can work for a better world.
