  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Community
Indigenous speaker and activist Winona LaDuke says that, "most indigenous ceremonies, if you look to their essence, are about the restoration of balance — they are a reaffirmation of our relationship to creation. That is our intent: to restore, and then to retain balance and honor our part in creation." Why is balance important to sustainability?

    kaden kinnear 4/08/2026 3:26 PM
Because it ensures that natural, social, and economic systems can coexist without one being overused or damaged, when balance is maintained, resources are used responsibly so they can continue to support life for future generations
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
What changes would help food insecure regions have access to local, seasonal foods? How can your choices contribute to these changes?

Local Markets and popups are a great way to provide access to seasonal produce for a communnity. Volunteering at the KCC farmers market was a way I was able to contribute to this; helping a family owned stand sell fresh seasonal products.

Have a friend that runs a coconut stand at the KCC farmers market and another aquantince that works at a juice stand there. I have been going every other saturday and buying things from their stands. I think it does more good than harm because the ingredients are all organic and are 100% juice from real fruits
