COMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Food

Enjoy a Meatless Meal

Producing 1 kg of beef emits as much greenhouse gas as driving 150 miles, meanwhile, 1 kg of veggies or grains leaves a much lighter footprint! This week, I’ll shrink my climate impact by having 1 meatless meals and/or 1 vegan meals each day.

I find that I’m exploring areas of my dining hall that I don’t regularly visit. I survived though!

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water
What did you notice about your habits or routines when limiting your showers to five minutes? What changes—if any—do you think you’ll continue long-term?

I feel a lot more focused on showering rather than wandering I feel. It was a nice feeling to get in and get out though.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water
Do you know where your campus or community gets its water? If not, how could you find out?

Not so sure where my campus gets its water. I’m sure that’s public information somewhere if I search through the university’s websites.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation
Half of all trips made in the US are three miles or less; 72% of them are driven. Does this statistic describe your own transportation habits? If so, how might you incorporate more muscle-powered transportation in your daily life?

This statistic describes my transportation habits when I'm not at school since there are not a lot of sidewalks in my hometown. I think owning a bike would probably encourage me to avoid driving in my daily life for short distances.
