Calvin Majchrzak 4/16/2025 7:10 AMMy EcoChallenges I'm attempting are to consume less meat on a weekly basis (trying to go multiple days without consuming meat), unplugging unused electronics, and going for daily walks. For my first goal I've been avoiding eating meat when possible by resorting to other foods, for example relying on pizza, salad or any vegetarian options of food at the dining hall and consistently checking "Dine on Campus" to view the menu to know what I can eat. My second goal has been going pretty well, nothing out of the ordinary, turning off lights when I'm not using them, unplugging things that don't need to be charged but also just reminding my roommates to turn off things they're not using. Lastly the goal I believe to be going the best, my daily walking goal. Each day I start my day by waking up grabbing a meatless breakfast, and doing my homework, whatever time is left I allot to throwing on my headphones and walking while listening to music! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?
Calvin Majchrzak 4/09/2025 6:38 AMPeople in richer countries eat more meat because they can easily access it and aren't immediately impacted by it's effects. Eating meat affects our planet and our people by producing a massive co2 offset and requiring high maintenance both of which contribute to climate change. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureHow do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?
Calvin Majchrzak 4/09/2025 6:36 AMWhen walking, you get to experience more nature because you'll have more time to be around it and furthermore, you get to be fully immersed in nature.
