REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Volunteer in my CommunityWhat is one thing you can do to help your community become more sustainable?
Alexis Martinez 4/03/2024 8:05 PMOne thing I can do to help my community become more sustainable is definitely educate and advocate for the different ways households can be sustainable. I have started this in my own household by starting a compost bin and reducing water usage. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Car ShareTake a moment to think of places you frequent often (school, work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?
Alexis Martinez 4/02/2024 3:44 PMLately, I have been carpooling with my co-workers who also happen to be my best friends. We work Monday through Friday and also live in close proximity to each other. Normally, we alternate weeks of driving. Sometimes, when we communicate to each other that we have to run errands, we decide to do them together and will take one car. (ex. grocery store, the mall) -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Alexis Martinez 4/02/2024 3:24 PMI believe practicing gratitude definitely keeps you humble and become more thankful for the people and things that surround you day-to-day. It allows one to realize how fortunate they are compared to others who may be in a situation who are less fortunate when it comes to certain things. This may further allow someone to help out people whom may need the assistance because they have the means to do it. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Plant an Herb GardenConsider the ways you can garden: a plot of land? a patio container? hanging basket? windowsill gardens? What would work best for your living situation and lifestyle?
Alexis Martinez 3/21/2024 8:37 PMI was able to plant herbs in an elevated planter that my dad build for me. For some time now, I have been wanting to be able to grow my own herbs in order the avoid repeatedly buying herbs from my local grocery store. It’s been a month since I first planted seeds. Right now, I can see the plants breaking through the soil!
