  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use a Reusable Mug
Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?

Something that stands in my way of using reusable mugs more often is that they are quicker to dispose of and clean, if you forget your reusable mug then you are forced to use a paper mug or buy another mug that is expensive.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water Fix Leaky Faucets
Fixing leaky faucets is one of the tasks that we can easily put off until later. Good job on completing this action! How will you use the momentum from completing this action to increase your water efficiency in other ways?

    Sofia Medina's avatar
    Sofia Medina 12/11/2023 11:19 AM
I will make sure that there are not any other problem that need to be fixed and that our costing extra money.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Try a New Way to Prep
Canning and pickling food is a great way to have delicious summer fruits and vegetables all year round. Just make sure to follow the canning and pickling guidelines from the USDA or another trusted source. What are some foods that you would like to preserve and enjoy later in the year?

    Sofia Medina's avatar
    Sofia Medina 12/11/2023 11:15 AM
My family often pickles beets and make apple preserves since our neighbors have a small farm.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Go Paperless
Reducing your paper mail can reduce mental clutter as well as physical waste -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?

    Sofia Medina's avatar
    Sofia Medina 12/11/2023 7:32 AM
By switching to digital mail I don't have to throw away as much mail, and this makes me feel less wasteful.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

I am finding that I have a tendency to be a morning person so I can maximize my sleep by going to bed early and doing my homework in the mornings.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water Install a Low-Flow Showerhead
How can your region/household prepare for changing water situations in order to become more resilient?

    Sofia Medina's avatar
    Sofia Medina 12/11/2023 6:37 AM
My household already tries to conserve water by using a water efficient dishwasher, and recently we had to replace a few shower heads since that were old and we decided to get low flow shower heads.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Car Share
Take a moment to think of places you frequent often (school, work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?

    Sofia Medina's avatar
    Sofia Medina 12/11/2023 6:33 AM
In the mornings my neighbors and their kids and I are dropped off at school and Mondays and Wednesdays, we do it this way because the middle school they attend is on the way to the high school and it is easier since my parents don't have time to drop me off in the mornings.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Explore My Area
How might spending more time outdoors enhance your brainpower?

    Sofia Medina's avatar
    Sofia Medina 12/11/2023 6:22 AM
When you spend time outside it allows your brain to be refreshed and afterward it makes you more efficient at work.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Plant an Herb Garden
Consider the ways you can garden: a plot of land? a patio container? hanging basket? windowsill gardens? What would work best for your living situation and lifestyle?

    Sofia Medina's avatar
    Sofia Medina 12/11/2023 6:12 AM
Windowsill gardens is what works best for my lifestyle because it gets cold in the winters and by a window the plants have the proper amount sunlight.

I chose to mainly travel close by and made sure to make sleeping arrangements along the way. I can avoid more air travel in the future by only flying by plane when necessary.
