Participant Feed

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Choose Organic Ingredients
Many people say that “you can’t feed the world with just organic food.” How would you respond to that statement?

    Gracie Middleton's avatar
    Gracie Middleton 12/10/2023 4:28 PM
I think if the world was able to switch over to organic food fully that would work. But doing that would be a difficult process because some countries have limited organic food.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Simplicity Go For A Daily Walk Outside
Fresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?

    Gracie Middleton's avatar
    Gracie Middleton 12/06/2023 5:43 AM
Taking a walk each day is a good way to calm down after a stressful day.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water Use Reusable Bottles
What are some of the needs that water meets or benefits that water provides for you?

    Gracie Middleton's avatar
    Gracie Middleton 12/04/2023 6:30 AM
Water keeps me hydrated throughout the day. We wouldn't be alive without water.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Needs Vs. Wants
How is creativity a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity?

    Gracie Middleton's avatar
    Gracie Middleton 12/01/2023 8:23 AM
I think being creative can help with simplicity by giving you more ideas that are not over the top.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Water Brush My Teeth Without Running Water
What is the main water source in your region? If you don't know, how could you find out?

    Gracie Middleton's avatar
    Gracie Middleton 11/30/2023 6:35 AM
I don't know what the main water source in my region is. Maybe I could find it by researching or asking someone who might know.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Watch a Documentary about Food Sovereignty
How does food sovereignty address the complex transition from localized food systems to modern global food systems?

    Gracie Middleton's avatar
    Gracie Middleton 11/21/2023 6:32 AM
It shows how different the food systems have changed over time by showing what people have done in the past to grow food and how hardly any people are still doing it.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Skip the Straw
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?

    Gracie Middleton's avatar
    Gracie Middleton 11/19/2023 7:37 AM
By stopping the use of single use plastic.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use a Reusable Mug
Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?

    Gracie Middleton's avatar
    Gracie Middleton 11/16/2023 6:36 AM
I wouldn't say it is really a challenge for me because my whole life I've used reusable cups when I'm at home but the hardest part would be when I'm not at home and I get a drink from a restaurant.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Health Learn More about Food Apartheid
What can lack of access to nutritious food affect a community? How can having access to nutritious food help a community become more resilient?

    Gracie Middleton's avatar
    Gracie Middleton 11/15/2023 6:34 AM
Lack of access to nutritious food can negatively impact a community by bringing down energy levels and disorganization. Nutritious food helps a community because it can make people happier and the community comes together.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health More Fruits and Veggies
How does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet?

    Gracie Middleton's avatar
    Gracie Middleton 11/11/2023 12:58 PM
Eating more fruits and vegetables gives me energy to get through the day. It helps our planet by eating less meat that comes from mass animal farms.
