Kayleigh's actions
Transportation
Improve a Bus Stop
I will improve a bus stop in my neighborhood by posting the stop schedule, adding seating or shelter, adding art or flowers, picking up litter, or some other small improvement.
Nature
Tend a Garden
I will tend to a garden, or prepare for one, each day using sustainable gardening practices.
Simplicity
Mindfulness Practice
I will spend 15 minute(s) per day practicing Mindfulness.

I will host a watch party to screen a documentary about an issue that matters to me.
Nature
Go for a Daily Walk
I will take a 20-minute walk outside each day.
Nature
Spend Time Outside
I will replace 30 minute(s) each day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside.
Simplicity
Track my Purchases
I will spend 5 minutes each day maintaining a record of all my purchases and learning about my spending habits.
Waste
Learn About & Practice Sustainable Fashion
I will learn about sustainable fashion and begin trying to practice it in my own life.

Waste
Use a Reusable Water Bottle
I will keep 3 disposable plastic bottle(s) from entering the waste stream by using a reusable water bottle.
Nature
Join An Outdoor Project
I will join an outdoor restoration project in my community while observing best practices in my region for not spreading COVID-19.
Simplicity
Less Screen Time
I will replace 60 minute(s) of screen time each day with other activities.

REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Less Screen TimeWhat did you notice in implementing this challenge? Was it hard to choose other activities over screen time? How did you decide to spend your time?
Kayleigh Mosher 11/11/2024 11:44 PMI spend the last hour before bed off my phone and I have been sleeping so much better and falling asleep earlier and faster -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Mindfulness PracticeWhat best helped you with your Mindfulness Practice? How does Mindfulness keep you grounded and sustain your work with compassion?
Kayleigh Mosher 11/11/2024 11:43 PMI saw a beautiful rainbow today and sat and thought about how lucky I am to be where I am right now. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Track my PurchasesWhat have you noticed about your purchases? Where are you inclined to make shifts, if any?
Kayleigh Mosher 10/03/2024 5:47 PMI spend way too much money on food/eating out. I have started to meal prep and use reusable Tupperware to store my food. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable MugMaybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?
Kayleigh Mosher 10/03/2024 5:45 PMI do not have a hard time with this because It keeps me from spending extra money on drinks. I make my coffee at home and take it to school/work.-
Samantha G 10/05/2024 10:02 AMThis is great - saving money, yay! When I go to coffee shops and I plan to stay for a while, I make sure to let them know it's "for here" so that they give me one of their mugs, rather than a to-go cup. At work, I often just make my drink in the breakroom, using a mug and coffee/tea from home.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable Water BottleWhile water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?
